Her personal highlights thus far including getting hand-picked by Snoop Dogg to be his guest in the stage at the YouTube Brandcast in May 2013 Niykee has kept up a steady songwriting routine despite the whirlwind of recent years. Now a magnet for up-and-coming artists, she is constantly looking over beats she receives and discovers that a lot of them result in sparking ideas for songs. In just 5 seconds, I can tell the quality of a song or not. After that, I have an idea for a song and begin writing the lyrics immediately. My guitar sits on the back porch and I just let my lyrics flow. Most of the time, it's done in less than 30 minutes. Niykee's past pain can be a constant source of inspiratation as she progresses as an author. Even when she is not writing about events that have actually happened the pain from childhood and grief over the loss of her daughter makes its way into music. It shapes my songs and creates a deeper meaning under everything which is among the most significant things for me. I want to be able to say that I could listen to any of my music 20 years from now and still feel proud of the things I said.
