
Bellamy Young, born Amy Maria Young on the 19th of February, 1970, [1]) is an American actor, producer, and performer best recognized for her role as Melody "Mellie", Grant on ABC's drama show Scandal (2012)-2018. She was the recipient of her 2014 Critics'' Choice Television award for the most outstanding supporting actress in a drama series. The actress also appeared in the Fox drama series Prodigal Son (2019-2021). Young began her career as an actor in the theater. Young made her Broadway debut on Broadway in the year 1997 as Mary in the original lineup. In addition, she has appeared Off-Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's music production Merrily we Roll Along (1994) as well as the musical of Randy Newman Faust (1995-1996). Her first appearance on TV in 1995, as Dr. Courtney Evans, in her role as a frequent guest in the NBC soap drama Another World. Both in 1997 and 1998, she guest starred in two roles in the show Law & Order. The film's debut came in 1999 as the role of the crime thriller Black and White. In the following years, she starred in other independent films. The actress began guest-starring in a number of television dramas and comedies in the 2000s. This included The Drew Carey Show and The X Files. Young has had more than 30 appearances on TV series between 2000-2011.
